Welcome to

funded by the European Union and co-ordinated by the Keio Advanced
Research Centers (KARC).
Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence is a research
centre authorized by the European Union (EU), that involves academic
activities in two or more of the target disciplines, proposes
activities which exploit multi-disciplinary resources in the targeted
disciplines and demonstrate openness to civil society.
We will focus on Implications of
European Integration for the State and Sovereignty in a Transnational
World as a research topic by a multidisciplinary
approach. We will try to discovering the ways to strike an optimal
balance between sovereignty of the state and transnationalism.
We also try to make this centre the very centre of
EU studies in Japan by enhancing the ability to conduct research and
analysis on EU affairs in the transnational and globalised world.
